Something I wrote this week.
Holding someone else's
hand felt like a betrayal
yearning for another
now comes with the baggage of guilt
He desires me more than I do him
Which just reminds me that I love you more
than you have the capacity to love me
It's a twisted game
this thing we call by name but truly do not know
I wanted to tell you all
but there was nothing to confess
How can I not be over something that never even started?
Will every poem I write come with musical accompaniment? Probably not, but I love that the last two have. This song just fits so well. The original is wonderful. I just grew up with the remake so I love it differently.
